Commuter FAQ

Where Can I Put My Stuff?
There are lockers available in Sutherland Hall; you supply the lock. Reserve lockers at front desk of Collegium; no fee, first come first serve, reserved on a yearly basis.

Where Do I Park?
Commuters can park in any blue-marked space in all lots except D (visitors/employees) or F (employees). There are no lots reserved for resident students only. All vehicles parking on Biola property must have Biola parking permits. For more information, check the Biola Campus Safety site.

Where can a commuter find a fridge or microwave?
The most accessible refrigerator requires membership in the Commuter Collegium, located in the upper SUB above Common Grounds. There are microwaves in the Eagles' Nest and the Library snack area.

Welcome to the Department of Commuter Life

Did you know that almost one-third of our undergraduate population commutes to campus? Some commuters drive more than an hour to campus, coming from places like Oceanside, San Bernardino and Echo Park.

The Department of Commuter Life, comprised of a Director, a Coordinator, five Commuter Life Assistants, and numerous volunteers, works as a team. Our intent is to integrate commuter students into the vibrant Biola community, connecting them to vital relationships and resources, promoting academic success and growth toward Christ-like character.

We would love to get to know you and we look forward to serving you. The Department of Commuter Life is located in the upper Student Union, east side.

In His Service,

Dr. Katie Tuttle
Director of Commuter Life

How Do I Find A Place?
There is a list of rental opportunities listed with Auxiliary Services, in the Student Services building (across from the Gym). There is also a "Housing" board in BUBBS (Conferences > Classifieds > Housing).

What Should I Know Before Renting?
Renting a place to live is a major step, and there are lots of issues: financial, legal, and interpersonal.

Several universities and other organizations have put together useful resources to help make your rental situation a success, whether you're in a house or an apartment, by yourself or with others. We've reviewed these sites, but keep in mind that Biola is not responsible for the content of external websites:
