Campus Lot and Road Closures

On Friday, March 29, the intersection between the Baseball Field and Lot E will be marked off so that striping work can take place. Those trying to exit campus via University Drive will be directed through Lot E.

Beginning Thursday March 28 and continuing through April 9 (approximately), the road between Sigma and Alpha leading to Lot L (Emerson/Alpha lot) will be closed as part of the new parking structure project. Access to Lot L will be via the road leading to the Crowell Music lot (see here for map).


Vehicle Policies

You may register your vehicle during Enrollment or at the Campus Safety Administrative Office. Permit pick-up locations will be announced at the beginning of each semester. Permits WILL NOT be mailed.

Campus Safety office hours Mon-Fri  are 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Summer/Interterm hours are Mon-Thu 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. until 12 noon. Closed weekends and university holidays.

Vehicle registration fees for 2012-2013 are expected to be $120/semester.


Parking Spaces:

  • All 30-minute parking curbs are painted green.
  • Yellow are loading zone curbs.
  • Employee (faculty/staff) parking curbs or bumpers are a neutral gray and stenciled with black letters: FACULTY/STAFF ONLY
  • Student spots are a neutral gray without any stenciling.
  • Disability/handicap parking are blue.

The university has 68 motorcycle spaces, in all lots except Lot J (between Sigma Chi and Facilities Services). Motorcycle riders are asked to please use these spaces so that full-sized spaces are available for cars.

Visitor parking is reserved for Lot D, off La Mirada Blvd. behind the School of Business. However, visitors who pick up a visitor pass from the Gatehouse may park in any student or employee spot.

Norwalk Transit System
Norwalk Bus 4 has a bus stop on Imperial Hwy and La Mirada Blvd (N/E corner at 76 Station) and runs west on Imperial to the MetroLink station and then to the Metro GreenLine Station. Buses run every 20-40 minutes; last bus leaves La Mirada at approx. 9:15 pm Mon-Fri (6:30 pm Sat-Sun).

Montebello Bus System
(serves La Mirada and surrounding areas).

Montebello Bus Line 50 has a bus stop on La Mirada Blvd at Alicante (between Foster Rd and Rosecrans) and runs through north to Whittier, then follows Washington Blvd east through Pico Rivera, Commerce, then into downtown LA. Buses runs every 35 minutes Mon-Fri (every 60 mins at night and Saturdays); last bus leaves La Mirada at approx. 9:30pm.
