Choosing and Changing Rooms

welcome

Choosing Your Room

Incoming, Transfer, and Re-Admit Students work with their Admissions Counselors to complete a Housing Card that provides the opportunity to state your preferences for living environment and roommates.  Your preferences can be guided by exploring the various living communities/buildings Biola has to offer. The Housing Office will then do their best to assign a room and roommate(s) that meet these preferences.

Current Residents will be instructed by the Housing Office and their Res Life Staff as to when, where, and how to reserve their room for the following Academic Year. Exact dates and details will be listed on the Housing & Res Life homepage

Changing Rooms

Exact dates and details for all Room Changes will be listed on the Housing & Res Life homepage.

Two Financially Offered Room Changes occur each Academic Year:  near the beginning of September and near the beginning of  February.  The purpose of these room changes is to offer students wanting to move in or out of discounted triples the ability to so so prior to final billing for each semester.  Both of these room changes are subject to availability, limitations, and deadlines.

One Open Room Change occurs at the front end of December.  Participants can move anywhere empty beds occur and room trades are allowed.  Qualified participants must be current Fall residents or approved Commuters, Off Campus Returning, or Incoming students.  Apartment or Thompson Hall residents must be discipline-screened by Student Development and have 57 units or more at the end of the Fall Semester and/or be 21 years old by the start of the Spring Semester.

Any room change requests outside of these formally offered room changes need to begin with contacting your Res Life Staff.

Apartment Openings will be made available to Commuter students and Current Residents periodically throughout the Academic Year.

If you make an unauthorized change, you will be charged a minimum of $100.00 and may be required to return to your original Housing Assignment.
