Reserving Housing
Continuing Students: Continuing on-campus students desiring to reserve on-campus housing for the fall must sign up for the room of their choice according to the reservation schedule in the spring. Commuter students desiring to live on campus need to contact the Housing Manager.
New Students: All accepted applicants requiring on-campus housing will be sent a housing information card by the Office of Admission along with their notice of acceptance. This card must be filled out and returned to the Office of Admission with a $250 housing deposit and the required $300 enrollment deposit. No room can be reserved without these deposits.
Commuter Students: If you are currently a student living off-campus, how can you get on-campus residency? Commuters can move onto campus at various times in the Academic Year. Because different times of the year have different guidelines as to how to move on campus, it is always a good idea to contact the Housing Office directly.
A $250 housing deposit will be kept by the university to hold a space in on-campus housing until such a time as the student withdraws, graduates, is eligible to live off-campus and does so, or receives an exemption from the residence requirement.
Applicants who have paid the $250 room reservation deposit but decide not to attend Biola [or obtain exemption from the residence requirement] may request in writing a refund of this deposit from the Housing Manager. The Housing Manager must receive this notification by the deadlines listed below. Failure to notify the Housing Manager by the designated dates will result in forfeiture of the deposit.
Prior to fall:
July 1 (incoming students) or July 15 (continuing students)
Prior to spring:
January 15 (all students)

Withdrawing from Housing
While Biola encourages residential students to live on campus throughout their Biola experience, there are conditions under which students may move off campus:
• If you are a freshman or sophomore under 21 years of age and wish to move to your parents' home,
• If you will turn 21 or complete enough units to achieve junior status prior to the first day of Spring Registration, AND you were not already either a junior/senior or 21 at the beginning of the Fall semester,
• If you are an International student 21 and older attending Biola for your first semester,
• If you are at least 21 or are a junior or senior as of the beginning of the Fall semester,
• If you change from full-time to part-time status during the academic year.
If you are leaving Biola housing but are continuing as a Biola student, there are several factors to consider:
• If you have already signed a housing contract, you will need to purchase your release from that contract.
• You will want to request a refund of your Housing Deposit. You will need to complete the Housing Deposit Refund Request (pdf). Deadlines are July 15 (fall semester) and Jan 15 (spring withdraw).
• Please visit our Commuter Life website and learn about the services and opportunities available to you as a Biola commuter student.
Withdrawing from School
If you are withdrawing from school, be sure to circulate a Departure Card from the Registrar’s Office and cancel your meal plan contract at the Student Services Building front desk. Your Housing Contract will be considered cancelled if you officially withdraw from, or are no longer enrolled at, Biola University. The official withdrawal date is the date your completed Departure Card is received in the Registrar's Office.
To have your Housing Deposit refunded, you must also complete the Housing Deposit Refund Request (pdf). Deadlines are July 15 (fall semester) and Jan 15 (spring withdraw).
