Welch Apartments

About the Welch Apartments
Built in 1990, the Welch Apartment Building is part of what is known as 'The Bluff,' which also includes Thompson Hall and the Li apartment building. Welch is designed for undergrad students who are 20 years or older by the first day of Fall classes. It is staffed by a paraprofessional Resident Coordinator.
Welch contains 15 one-bedroom apartments, designed to house 3 students each. There is a laundry room on each level. Welch is co-ed, with male and female students living in separate apartments. While there is no lobby or lounge per se, there is an external patio/deck with BBQ grills, and the landings and common balconies have become social spaces in Welch.
Amenities
Welch is fully air conditioned; each room has individual room thermostats. Each Welch apartment is furnished with a love seat and an arm chair, one coffee table, a dining table with four chairs, a microwave, a refrigerator, and an oven/stove. Each student is provided the same furniture in each bedroom: a desk, a 2-shelf bookcase, 1 desk chair, a 3-drawer dresser or drawer unit, a wardrobe or closet, 1 bed frame, 1 mattress (36" x 74" innerspring mattress), and 1 mattress cover. Each bedroom also has one telephone, one wastebasket, and window coverings (blinds or drapes).
Since you have your own kitchen, you will need cookware, dishware/glassware/silverware, and kitchen utensils. We suggest that you talk to your roommates first to see what they are bringing and what you could share!
