Parking Space Color Will Change

No more blue: Contrary to earlier reports, the color of student parking spaces on campus will change.

Parking

Effective immediately, student parking spaces on campus will change from blue to neutral/gray.

It was earlier reported that only Faculty/Staff spaces would change to gray/white (with a "Fac/Staff Parking" stencil), while student spaces would remain blue.

"Elsewhere in California, blue spaces are used to signify disability parking," said Ken Bascom, Senior Director for Facilities Planning & Construction. "We're going to follow that model."

Student spaces will now be a neutral gray/white, but without any stencil. This means the final configuration is:

Green: 30-minute or other limited-time parking spaces.
Yellow: loading zones.
Blue: Disability/handicapped parking.
Gray/neutral with "Faculty/Staff" stencil: Faculty/staff parking.
Gray/neutral: Student parking.

Visitor parking is reserved for Lot D, off La Mirada Blvd. behind the School of Business. However, visitors who pick up a visitor pass from the Gatehouse may park in any student or employee spot.
