Alpha Dresses Up for Halloween

Alpha Chi will be overrun with kids this Saturday night... Yes, it's time for Candyland!

"We do this every year," said Dawn White, RD of Alpha West. "It's to serve the local community and provide a safe, fun and free place for kids to go on Halloween."

The women of Alpha transform the entire hall into the gameboard of Candyland.  Each floor represents a different character from the board game and kids can trick-or-treat up and down each of the halls. Some residents in previous years have taken their decorations beyond the Candyland motif; fairytale and movie characters, as well as Mario and Luigi, have made an appearance as well.

There is also face painting, a bounce house, a cakewalk, free popcorn, a movie and carnival games.

The event is open to kids up through 3rd grade, and runs from 5:30p-8:30p on Saturday Oct 31.

Biola students can help by donating candy for the Alpha women to give out; collection boxes are located in the Library, Metzger Hall, Student Services, and the Cafe. Questions about candy can be directed to either Rachel Young or Lauren Alley (on BUBBS).

Help is also needed for set-up, tear-down, decorations, and game management, and other tasks as needed. Volunteers can contact Kathleen Mason or Diana Jimenez (on BUBBS).
