WHEN GOD SAID "GO!" TO COSTA RICA
Rick Johnson’s career has combined three passions: technology, publishing and education. Following a stint at Apple, he became Chief Technology Officer for VitalSource Technologies (a division of Ingram, the largest book distribution company in the world). Rick heads a team dedicated to bringing electronic textbooks into the classroom.

THREE LESSIONS FOR THE CHURCH FROM THE EDUCATION REFORM MOVEMENT
Jeremy Mann trains and coaches new teachers in Chicago’s under-resourced public schools with Teach for America. His teachers' students average more than five times the academic growth made by the students of other teachers at their schools. He graduated from Biola University and the Torrey Honors Institute with a degree in philosophy.

LEARNING NEW STUFF FROM OLD: BIOLOGICAL AGENTS PRESERVE HISTORY
Karen Riddervold graduated from Biola with a BS in Biological sciences. Karen has been a part of the "Biola in Baja" team through 2009. Karen is working as a project manager where she combines entomology and her love for historic houses and objects of cultural heritage. Karen lives in Oslo, Norway with her family.

Jody Ward developed her interest in forensic psychology using the skills Biola and Rosemead taught her. As a criminal and forensic psychologist, she evaluates defendants in cases ranging from child dependency court to death penalty cases.

AN ECONOMY OF GRATITUDE… OUR CULTURE'S OBSESSION WITH DEBT
Christof Meyer is a senior strategist for a boutique innovation-consulting firm in Richmond, VA. He received his MBA from the Darden School of Business at UVA, and was classically educated in the Torrey Honors Institute at Biola University.

CREATIVE PROBLEM-SOLVING IN VISUAL EFFECTS ANIMATION
Rob Bredow is a product of Biola’s Cinema and Media Arts program. Rob is Chief Technology Officer and Visual Effects Supervisor at Sony Pictures’ Imageworks. Among numerous film projects over almost two decades, Bredow’s talent is evident in the visual production of The Polar Express, Stuart Little, Godzilla, and Independence Day.
