Welcome Back…

While the changes this summer don't compare with last year's, there are a few different things going on as you return to campus:

Equipping Men and Women…

Few would argue that the world is substantially different than it was at the founding of Biola one hundred years ago. And many would argue that the accelerated pace of current affairs has squeezed another century’s worth of change into just the last twenty years.

...In Mind and Character…

As mentioned before, the world is a different place than when Biola was founded in 1908. It’s a different place than when Biola moved from downtown LA in 1959; a different place from when Clyde Cook took over as President in 1982.

...To Impact the World…

As mentioned before, institutional change at a place like Biola is always difficult, perhaps particularly in the area of spiritual development.

...For the Lord Jesus Christ.

Transformation is a word that has shown up a lot in Biola documents over the past five or so years. The Biola “vision statement” includes reference to “a community of grace that promotes and inspires personal life transformation in Christ,” while the three Biola “values” are listed as “truth, transformation, testimony.”

Justifying Your Existence…

Will your grades give a prospective employer the whole picture? Or is there a way to "tell a better story"?

Sinking A Music Pirate

I thought that anything would be better than my early morning Spanish class, but I realized I was wrong on that day two years ago when a campus police officer pulled me out of class to inform me that an FBI agent was waiting for me at my dormitory room.

A Very Special Friday

Dr. Barry Corey will be officially inaugurated as Biola's eighth president this Friday. Alumni, friends, delegates, and special guests will all be joining students, faculty, and staff in this very special morning of blessing and celebration.
